# Job Description

The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration IDRC seeks to hire a suitable
candidate for the position of Training Coordinator for the Implementing
Malaria Molecular Surveillance IMMRSE study. The successful candidate will
be based in Kampala office.

Job description
• Ensure that IMMRSE training program activities are executed as per funding
agency rules
• Work with the HR Manager, study Coordinator and PI to advertise, shortlist
and interview candidates for award of Trainee Opportunities.
• Draft training plans and schedule to align with project requirements.
• Oversee training plans and track academic progress of trainees in liaison
with the IDRC regulatory office.
• Work with the Grants Manager and project coordinator to track the project
budget
• Support trainees to ensure that stipends, course fees, research expenses etc
are paid on time.
• Prepare and submit annual progress reports on trainees as required by
funding agency.
• Organize the scheduled training programs, regular trainee meetings and
presentation sessions
• Develop a monitoring and evaluation system to track the success of the
training program.
• Support the Regulatory affairs office to establish a training coordination
office within IDRC.

Key Result Areas
• Training plans and academic progress of trainees kept on track.
• Documented training plans for project trainees
• Timely progress reports submitted
• Trainee program established and functioning as planned

Qualifications and other desirables for the job:
Mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Social work, public Health or related
discipline.
• Prior experience in a similar coordinator position is an added advantage
• Possess a Good Clinical Practice certificate
• Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under stringent deadlines and to work independently
